HEART RATE VARIABILITY ASSESSMENT

The Heart Rate Variability Machine (HRV) is a functional assessment tool that is composed of two parts.

  • The Nerve Express System (NES)
  • The Health Express System (HES).

The ultimate goal is to measure the current functioning of the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems to indicate a patient’s functional adaptation reserve for healing.

Nerve Express System

The NES provides a quantitative assessment of the state of arousal to a persons autonomic nervous system (ANS). This is performed when the patient is lying down (supine), transition to upright, and upright. It provides an easy to interpret visual representation of the Heart Rhythm known as Rhythmography.

When the patient undergoes a simple Orthostatic Test (moving from laying down to upright), a wavy line graph is generated that will identify if there is any autonomic dysregulation.

Heath Express System

The HES automatically determines the functional state of the person being tested and compares it to standard norms. Based on the mathematical analysis of the HRV wave structure generated from the Orthostatic Test, we are able to take a “snap shot” of the body’s regulating process to give us a baseline.

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) testing is completely painless and takes less than 20 minutes, but can be life changing. The HRV provides a realist view of your current health and can indicate the presence of disease as well as helping to prevent common complex illnesses.

Summary

The gathered data allows for a greater degree of accuracy in determining the subjects minimum and maximum functioning levels from which to measure improvement with our various treatments.
